We have kicked off Advanced Search updates as part of ongoing search improvements to the TIND platform. This optional beta release will address specific customer feature requests and introduce a modern, accessible, and configurable search interface for Advanced Search. Immediate changes include simplified user navigation, updates to date selection, and the improved construction of advanced queries with the option of adding additional lines to the search query.
In addition to new date selection dropdowns, institutions can also choose to promote two additional filtering options from any metadata fields to be added as dropdowns in the first line of the layout. The existing customer defined fields within the “Search In” dropdown menu will remain the same, as will dynamic facet behavior when using the Advanced Search within a specific collection.
As part of this feature you will also see a new “No results” message, providing suggestions for additional search tools such as Basic Search and Index Browse (if activated), and Search Tips.
Existing Advanced Search links and queries that staff and users may have saved as bookmarks or shortcuts will be redirected to the new Advanced Search and continue to work as they do now.
Near term improvements will include suggested authority entries while typing in an authority search field, a collection dropdown filter, and more options for date selection.
TIND encourages customers to test out the new beta feature and provide feedback before the full release. The current goal is to deprecate existing Advanced Search and replace it with the updated version in 2023.

[License Management | ILS]
Acquisitions improvements continue with the addition of License Management to promote access and management of electronic resource records. TIND ILS users can now create custom license policies and store definitions to be displayed to end users in bibliographic records associated with the license.
ILS users with URLs in the MARC 856 field can now optionally see these linked resources displayed in a new section, “Linked e-resources.” Relevant license policy terms are stored in a separate license record and displayed next to each linked e-resource. License records can contain data such as access policies, concurrent user informations, access notes, provider, related collections, and any desired custom field. Staff can also upload a PDF of the original license to be stored and viewed in TIND for internal use.
This feature is activated by default for all customers and suppressed in the template. Staff users can unsuppress the feature to activate the display.

Fixed a bug where a customer was unable to discover Daniel O’Sullivan when searching for Sullivan.
Index Browse [ILS]
TIND will move Index Browse from Beta to Production in the 1.16 or 1.17 release according to user feedback and guidance. (https://info.tind.io/roadmap/1.14.0).
Please contact TIND Support with any questions.
Circulation [ILS]
TIND has delayed the removal of the Checkout (Legacy) option from Circulation. It will now be removed in the 1.16 release. The legacy option will be deprecated to continue focused development on the enhanced Checkout tool made available as beta last year in the 1.11 release (https://info.tind.io/roadmap/1.11.0).
Display [ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
The caret button ^ which is used to expand the collections menu on the main search page has been adjusted. It has been moved down slightly to accommodate and prevent overlap with the growing number of links which appear under the search box. TIND will consider a new design method for future development. Please contact TIND Support with any questions or concerns.
Display [ILS]
The new Expanded Holdings Data feature released in 1.14 has been reordered on the record detail page (https://info.tind.io/roadmap/1.14.0). It now appears after the Details section, expanded by default.
[Search | LS, DA, IR, RDM]
TIND now supports concatenation of subfields within the Author, Subject, Geographic, and Title fields so additional subfield terms can also appear within facets and index browse.
