Release Webinar & Slides
TIND ILS users can now sign up to beta test Index Browse. This new feature enables end users to browse and search within indexes of terms for specific fields such as Title, Author, Call Number, Subject, and Genre/Form. Indexed terms are displayed in Alpha-numeric order and show the number of matching records in the catalog and a search link to retrieve the matching records. Submitting a query takes the user to the point in the index where the term appears, if present in the index, or would appear, if not present in the index.
Selecting a matched term returns the traditional search result page where users can continue searching using standard search tools such as facets and format options.

Watermarking | [Watermarking | IR]
It is now possible to add watermark branding to your PDF collections. TIND will load a PNG image of your choosing which will appear as a faded and centred image on each viewed and printed page of the PDF document.

Cover Pages | [Cover Pages | IR]
It is now possible to add cover page branding to your collections. Providing TIND with a PDF of a single branding page ensures that selected content downloaded from your site will be printed with the PDF content as the very first page.

PayPal Integration | [Circulation | ILS]
TIND ILS admins may link TIND with a PayPal account, enabling end users to pay fines and fees via PayPal. Students and community members can self-service their overdue payments using an online integration with PayPal available in the Personalize menu. End users do not need PayPal accounts to make payments.
To learn more about PayPal integration, see https://docs.tind.io/article/2192x555cv.

TIND ILS admins can choose to enable a new section in the Detailed View display to show holdings data in a new way. Traditionally, holdings data has been stored in MARC holdings records, while in TIND this data is typically stored in 852 fields within bibliographic records. The new display works with the existing TIND storage method and groups the data by copy or holding.
The new section is managed in the Displays module in a new Record Details section template. The template offers the same functionality as other templates, having a standard set of global fields and the ability to reorder or suppress fields, and add local fields to meet special needs.
The name of the Locations area can be customized as seen here, renamed Item Details.

[Search | ILS] Library of Congress call numbers are now more accurately sorted. ILS customers using the Call Number sort feature in the Options menu of the search results page will benefit from more precise results. This will be available out of the box for all new customers. Existing ILS users should contact TIND Support for configuration.

[Batch Edit | DA, IR, RDM]
A user attempting to perform a bulk metadata edit job on several thousand records was met with repeated gateway timeouts. TIND responded by creating a system for chunking in the batch editor, meaning that when a user submits changes they are sent in groups of n records to prevent timeouts.

When viewing some collection pages, the clickable area of the Quick Links, including the Advanced Search link, did not match the outline of the text. When the user hovers over the text, no link is presented. TIND created a fix so the visual elements line up and are clickable completely.
[Detailed View | DA, IR, RDM]
A user reported that while using Chrome (Version 84.0.4147.135) or Firefox, the arrow within the search box of the Preview section indicating the option to select more files disappears. TIND noted its inconsistency in other areas of the system including a date picker. The arrow now appears correctly to better indicate menu options.
TIND discovered a bug in the universal viewer display when a window is resized. When the window size was reduced and the universal viewer was collapsed, then both were increased and expanded, the Universal Viewer size was incorrect. This has been fixed so the Universal Viewer sizing displays correctly.
Thai characters were not consistently rendered accurately in the details section of the record. Characters are now rendered properly.

[Displays | DA, IR, RDM, ILS]
TIND noticed a display bug on mobile devices and browsers with very narrow screens where the Columns dropdown button rendered incorrectly. The error was present both on Win 10 + Edge and MacOS + Chrome. This has been corrected on the narrow browsers but is still present in mobile devices and will be addressed in a future release.
[Static Page | DA, IR, RDM, ILS]
[File Manager | DA, IR, RDM]
A user reported an upload of files done with the file manager wasn’t successful. TIND discovered the background task to verify files and store them was failing incorrectly. This was isolated to a single environment and remedied by TIND.
