RELEASE NOTES - TIND 1.21.0 - ILS
We are happy to announce the TIND 1.21.0 release. This is a major feature release with new features, fixes and changes for all products.
The release schedule is as follows:
> Release 1.21.0 Sandbox & Early Release Instances
> Release 1.21.0 to all TIND instances (UPDATED DATES)
> 1.21.0 Customer Release Webinar
TIND admins now have the option of adding a second display option of your search results, a new Table View, allowing users to select which one they prefer and easily switch between the two. The new table View shows the same results list but in a tabular form, with selected metadata listed in columns instead of today’s brief record view.
The columns are configurable, allowing admins to choose which are the most relevant to your instance. End users can sort, filter, and otherwise adjust search results in the exact same way as before. The table view is built with the same components as the Details section in the Detailed View, meaning that admins may suppress, reorder, and relabel fields in the Displays configuration interface. Likewise, functionality such as having a field link out to a search result is also supported.
This feature is available on request. Please contact TIND Support to set up Table View.

The BETA version of updated Advanced Search will now be moved to production on all instances. This updated advanced search includes a design update in both the desktop and mobile view. Advanced Search now supports searching when using the Enter key and typing in dates for ease of use when navigating the search interface through keyboard use only.
As mentioned in our previous release notes, TIND is continuing to work on various performance improvements across the entire TIND platform. After this release you may notice that newly submitted records are processed and available much faster than before.
The settings required for Record Manager are the same as for Connexion, so the switch requires only a few steps, outlined in this document: Configure OCLC WorldShare Record Manager

TIND has restyled the facets in order to make the search interface more user-friendly. Previously, search facets were not displaying the entire text value and the hover functionality only partially displayed all text. The terms displayed will now wrap within the facet menu so end users will not need to hover, and extra padding has been added between terms to make facets more readable.
We have added support for conditional checks in the circulation workflows, such as the hold request workflow, pickup notice workflow, and loan return workflow. These can be used to perform certain tasks only when specific, user-defined conditions are met. These checks can be set on either Patron Type, Item Status, or Request Status.
Furthermore, a new task “Set item status” is available for updating the Item Status of one specific item. This is mainly for instances using self-check services, where the task can be used for automatically changing the status to “In transfer” after check-in.
[Acquisitions | ILS]
An “unsaved changes“ warning would sometimes appear in the Order and Invoice forms when no changes had been made to the data.
[APIs | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]]
A wrongly formatted API endpoint would previously lead to an Internal Server Error (500). A proper API exception has been introduced instead.
In the Authorities API, an incorrect content type led to a browser error due to attempting to parse the result as XML. The JSON is now correctly returned.
[Workflows | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]]
Certain email clients would not render URLs as clickable hyperlinks. With this update, adding anchor tags in the emails will render the hyperlinked URL. Please contact TIND Support if you require assistance with this update.
[Detailed View | ILS]
The default Author display element used in the Details section incorrectly included data from the Marc field 711. This has been replaced by the correct 710 field.
[Circulation | ILS]
The “Clear selection” option in the filter dropdowns within the Circulation lists was unresponsive. It now works as expected.
[Circulation workflows | ILS]
The email token “link_to_holdings_details” in the circulation workflows was pointing to a deprecated holdings page. It will now point to the record page instead.
[Circulation | ILS]
The maximum number of allowed characters in the address field in the patron record has been increased from 60 to 255 characters.
[Collection branding | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]
In the mobile view, large collection branding sections would be cut off due to the size limit on the branding section. The limit has been removed from mobile view only.
[Detailed View | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]
The field labels and values are now aligned in the mobile/narrow view. Previously, the label was slightly indented.
[Detailed View -Details section | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]]
A type of special display element used in the global field “Keywords” was interpreting blank values as wildcards, meaning that fields with certain indicator values could not be excluded from the display. This has now been corrected.
[Facets | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]
When selecting a facet, the facet lists would sometimes expand and flicker while the new results list was loading. This is now prevented by fixing the height of the content while the updated list is loading.
[Loan rules | ILS]
The values in the “Allow Holds”, “Home Pickup”, “Allow Renewals” and “Allow Recalls” would revert to their default values when editing a loan rule. This has been corrected so that the existing values are retained.
[NCIP | ILS]
Returns on the Bibliotheca self-check machine resulted in a warning message on-screen if the returned item had a status other than "on loan". The return will now be processed as expected, but the item status will remain.
[Record Editor | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]
The record editor will not allow you to add fields where the subfield tag is missing, but when editing existing data fields it was possible to remove the subfield tag and still publish the record, leading to the whole subfield being removed. The interface will now indicate that the field is missing and block you from publishing changes until it has been filled.
[Search | ILS]
The “year” index did not always extract/interpret the date fields correctly from the 008 control field which could lead to unexpected search results. The tokenizer utilized by the year index has been better aligned with the Library of Congress MARC21 definition.
[Circulation | ILS]
The “Request” modal has improved logic and will now only display request options that are relevant to the selected patron.
[Knowledge Bases | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]
The maximum number of characters allowed in the “Map from” field has been increased from 255 to 510. Both the “Map from” (key) and “Map to” (value) fields now allow the same size. Additionally, the input field will not allow more characters than what can be stored
[Search | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]
The author index now only includes subfield $a from Marc fields 100, 700, 110 and 710 and is limited to indexing strings less than 60 characters in length. This is to reduce a cluttered index and enhance search results.
Record Statistics from the search results limit has increased from 1000 to 5000 by default
[RSS Feed | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]
The RSS feed has been updated to better preserve the order of the search result (latest first).
[Translations | DA, ILS, IR, RDM]
More Norwegian translations have been added across the ILS
The welcome email for newly registered users is now fully translated to French on systems that have French as the default language
