RELEASE NOTES - TIND 1.20.0
We are happy to announce the TIND 1.20.0 release. This is a major feature release with new features, fixes and changes for all products.
The release schedule is as follows:
> Release 1.20.0 Sandbox & Early Release Instances
> Release 1.20.0 to all TIND instances
> 1.20.0 Customer Release Webinar
TIND has added support for the NISO Circulation Interchange Protocol (NCIP) with particular focus on integration with self service kiosks. The protocol manages the data exchange between the TIND ILS system and the kiosk, and allows patrons to check items in and out of the library, check their loan statuses, and pay fines and fees without additional support from library staff.
The implementation of the NCIP protocol has been made in collaboration with Bibliotheca, a self-service kiosk vendor supporting libraries with their kiosks worldwide.

Institutions using Author Profiles will see an updated Author Browse page with the 1.20 release, enabling end users to view and search all authors with a public profile. The Author Browse page is also the starting point for administrators who create and update profiles on behalf of others such as faculty users. The page is always available from any page of TIND using the header menu.
The page now includes a “business card” view, with the profile picture displayed with the most important information from the author profile, all of which is searchable.
Author Browse also introduces a list view to return more results on one page and reorder the results based on the column header.
Reporting Page - New!
A reporting page is now available in a new tab on each author’s profile. The reporting page includes view and download statistics related to the linked works and the author profile itself, and it is only available to the authors and system administrators. Users can switch between preset time periods to visualize how the records have been interacted with over time. Records that already exist in the system will display the counts from when the record was first added to the TIND repository, including data from before the author profile was created.
Custom pronouns
Users can now add custom pronouns to their Author Profile in addition to the preset values chosen by the institution.
[Acquisitions | ILS]
An “unsaved changes“ warning would sometimes appear in the Order and Invoice forms when no changes had been made to the data.
[APIs | All]
A wrongly formatted API endpoint would previously lead to an Internal Server Error (500). A proper API exception has been introduced instead.
In the Authorities API, an incorrect content type led to a browser error due to attempting to parse the result as XML. The JSON is now correctly returned.
[Workflows | All]
Certain email clients would not render URLs as clickable hyperlinks. With this update, adding anchor tags in the emails will render the hyperlinked URL. Please contact TIND Support if you require assistance with this update.
[PDF Viewer | IR, RDM]
The PDF viewer contains a download button. Clicks on this button were previously not registered as part of the download statistics for a file.
FITS files can currently not be previewed in the image viewer (universal viewer), and the previewer will no longer attempt to render them.
[Brief View | IR, RDM]
A click on a PDF thumbnail rendering the PDF file in a pop-up window or new tab would erroneously lead to a registered download count.
[Detailed View | ILS]
The default Author display element used in the Details section incorrectly included data from the Marc field 711. This has been replaced by the correct 710 field.
[API | DA, IR, RDM]
New List files API
TIND Admins can use the API to programmatically list files that are uploaded to TIND's server via SFTP. The files can be listed either by file name or by folder name, and the response can be received either in JSON or csv format.

[Detail View I LS]
Record views statistics section in the ILS Detailed View
The Statistics section has now been made available in the ILS Detailed View. The section is displayed at the bottom of the record page and displays the number of views and unique views for the particular record. The section is managed with the viewstatistics action which has been added to the admin_ils and anyuser role by default.

[Batch Uploader | ILS]
Configurable delimiter in the CSV Import
The CSV import (both old and new versions) now supports setting a custom delimiter to use with the CSV import. The default is comma, but this can now be changed to either a semicolon or a tab-separator.
[Metadata | IR, RDM]
Marking DOIs as inactive in DataCite
DOIs generated through TIND will be automatically deactivated when a record is deleted. Furthermore it is possible to manually deactivate a DOI through the record editor.
