RELEASE NOTES - TIND 1.19.0
IR / DA / RDM
We are happy to announce the TIND 1.19.0 release. This is a major feature release with new features, fixes and changes for all products.
The release schedule is as follows:
> Release 1.19.0 Sandbox & Early Release Instances
> Release 1.19.0 to all TIND instances
> 1.19.0 Customer Release Webinar
We are pleased to announce Author Profiles, a brand new TIND feature for institutions to showcase local works and achievements such as faculty or researcher publications, student theses, works by local artists, and other authors in your community. Once the Author Profile feature is activated, end users with existing TIND accounts can log in to create their own profiles, share a brief bio, search and link to existing works already held in the repository, link new submissions, create links to works held outside of TIND, and link to their ORCID profile.
Once works are added, authors can manage their content through institutionally-controlled tags for resource type and author contribution levels. Local repository admins can approve newly added works via TIND’s Submission Dashboard and make changes to profiles as desired.
Author Profiles uses local branding to promote institutional awareness and collection development.
An author’s profile can be shared using a direct link for embedding in libguides or institutional funding applications, or the profile can be discovered in the repository via a dedicated search page available in the upcoming TIND 1.20 release.
The new Author Profiles feature is available on request for IR, RDM, or DA users. Some customization required.

With the goal of meeting DataCite 4.4 compliance for RDM users, TIND now supports new metadata display options, Related Items and Geolocation Display, in the Detailed View.
In Geolocation Display, the field Location Place can be expanded by the end user to display precise coordinates.
With Related Items, admins can choose to display one or more groups of related records (as defined by the institution) within the detailed view of each of these records. This is accomplished through linking data in the 971 MARC fields. In the example below, a journal is linking to a supplementary article and dataset.

In addition to format export options such as DublinCore and BibTex, TIND RDM end users will now be able to export results in the DataCite format. This format will be available to all users in the Detailed View, Search results, and to admins via API.

[File Manager | All Products]
File Manager was updated to be case insensitive in the case where a file match is found but the two extensions use different cases.
[Search | All Products]
Searching in collections with too many sub-collections could break the search because of URL length. A restriction has been added where all sub-collections are automatically selected if the URL character limit is exceeded
[Brief View| All Products]
