RELEASE NOTES - TIND 1.19.0
We are happy to announce the TIND 1.19.0 release. This is a major feature release with new features, fixes and changes for all products.
The release schedule is as follows:
> Release 1.19.0 Sandbox & Early Release Instances
> Release 1.19.0 to all TIND instances
> 1.19.0 Customer Release Webinar
We are pleased to announce Author Profiles, a brand new TIND feature for institutions to showcase local works and achievements such as faculty or researcher publications, student theses, works by local artists, and other authors in your community. Once the Author Profile feature is activated, end users with existing TIND accounts can log in to create their own profiles, share a brief bio, search and link to existing works already held in the repository, link new submissions, create links to works held outside of TIND, and link to their ORCID profile.
Once works are added, authors can manage their content through institutionally-controlled tags for resource type and author contribution levels. Local repository admins can approve newly added works via TIND’s Submission Dashboard and make changes to profiles as desired.
Author Profiles uses local branding to promote institutional awareness and collection development.
An author’s profile can be shared using a direct link for embedding in libguides or institutional funding applications, or the profile can be discovered in the repository via a dedicated search page available in the upcoming TIND 1.20 release.
The new Author Profiles feature is available on request for IR, RDM, or DA users. Some customization required.

TIND ILS launches the first OpenURL Request Services integration with Aeon by Atlas Services to power end-to-end requesting and management workflows for physical items. When a physical item is requested by an end user, depending on the loan rules for the item, for example, the location of that item, TIND ILS will either fulfil the request normally or the request will be passed off to an external system for fulfilment, such as Aeon, in a new browser tab.
TIND will pass bibliographic information to Aeon to facilitate the item request workflow, such as title, barcode, call number, or other criteria as customized by the institution.

While creating Aeon Integration, design improvements have been made to the layout of the Loan Table for all TIND ILS customers.
The table has been updated to more easily review existing loan rules and to simplify the addition of new loan rules.

With the goal of meeting DataCite 4.4 compliance for RDM users, TIND now supports new metadata display options, Related Items and Geolocation Display in the Detailed View. Due to the product design, Related Items has wide applications for all TIND users beyond the original RDM applications.
In Geolocation Display, the field Location Place can be expanded by the end user to display precise coordinates.
With Related Items, admins can choose to display one or more groups of related records (as defined by the institution) within the detailed view of each of these records. This is accomplished through linking data in the 971 MARC fields. In the example below, a journal is linking to a supplementary article and dataset.
To learn more, please contact TIND Support.
In addition to format export options such as DublinCore and BibTex, TIND RDM end users will now be able to export results in the DataCite format. This format will be available to all users in the Detailed View, Search results, and to admins via API.

[File Manager | All Products]
File Manager was updated to be case insensitive in the case where a file match is found but the two extensions use different cases.
[Fiscal Years | TIND ILS]
TIND ILS customers implemented before 2023 using the PRE-FY fiscal year were unable to link to Global Lists reports from the fund table. The links from the funds table have now been disabled, as PRE-FY does not report encumbrances and expenditures due to PRE-FY being a rolling year. This reporting is available for all other fiscal years.
[Search | All Products]
Searching in collections with too many sub-collections could break the search because of URL length. A restriction has been added where all sub-collections are automatically selected if the URL character limit is exceeded
[Brief View| All Products]
TIND admins are now able to configure the Brief View to match the Detailed View. This includes the following benefits:

[Advanced Search| All Products]
Improved Advanced Search (Customer Release) is tentatively scheduled for the 1.20 release after receiving additional beta feedback from users.
