RELEASE NOTES - TIND 27.0.0 - DA/IR/RDM
We are pleased to announce TIND release 27.0.0.
New features are coming to TIND! In Release 27.0.0, TIND DA collections with video and audio content can now upload subtitle and caption files and automatically generate transcript files. A new Citation Tool displays citations in various styles and languages for research outputs in the RDM and IR, and submission forms can now autofill author information from their ORCID registry.
On the improvement side, the OAI harvester can now include access to restricted collections. We also have updates to improve user experience, including accessibility fixes for facets and date ranges. The release includes a number of minor improvements and bug fixes, as well as a continued focus performance improvements across the platform.

If you’re already streaming videos on your TIND instance you are now able to upload subtitles and captions as well as generate transcripts automatically when your media files are uploaded. This feature applies to both audio and video files, and is a great way to make your content available to more users and audiences.
This feature supports two of the most common subtitle formats, SubRip Subtitle (.srt) and Video TextTracks (.vtt). The system identifies the correct file and language through a combination of file name and specific extensions.
Transcripts can be automatically generated for your audio and video files directly in the File Manager or configured to run automatically on all media files during upload. The service will detect the language of the audio track, generate a transcript with the correct extension, and add it to the record.

Introducing: our new Citation Tool, a feature designed to help users quickly generate ready-to-use citations for research outputs in various styles. In RDM and IR instances, the tool will appear in the Action Bar on records with a DOI with the release of this version.
The Citation Tool integrates with the DOI Citation Formatter to effortlessly create citations in a variety of styles, with over 2000 options available by configuration. Out-of-box, a set of widely used citations styles are pre-configured.
The tool also supports different languages, and institutions can set a default citation style and language most appropriate for your users.
[Submission Forms | IR, RDM]
TIND now supports author look up using the ORCID registry in the submission forms. Not only will this auto-fill the author name and ORCID, it can also be set up to add affiliation and affiliation source and ID.

By default, OAI harvesters can only see public records. With this release it will be possible to use roles to give access to restricted records as well.

Accessibility fixes for facets and date range have been implemented, along with improvements to the front page. Additionally, roles for child elements have been defined as needed to enhance the overall functionality and user experience.
Displays [ILS, IR, RDM, DA] The title tag has been added to the browser tab for Authority records. Previously the record number would display instead of the record title. This may need configuration if you have custom authority categories.
Exports [ILS, IR, RDM, DA] It’s possible to configure custom CSV exports to create export options with only a set of predefined fields included. Previously, this was only available with MARC tags, but descriptive labels are now available for custom exports as well.
Submission Dashboards [IR, RDM] Tables in the submission dashboards are sorted alphabetically, but this will be replaced with creation date in any default dashboard table with this release. The sort option can now also be configured upon request.
Submission Forms [IR, RDM, DA] In the submission form, the list of available collections can now be rendered based on the user access rights. This requires configuration.
