RELEASE NOTES - TIND 1.19.1
ILS
We are happy to announce the TIND 1.19.1 release. This is a minor release with a major amount of bug fixes!
The release schedule is as follows:
> Release 1.19.1 Sandbox & Early Release Instances
> Release 1.19.1 to all TIND instances
Administration | All]
TIND removed admin pages that were only helpful to internal TIND staff and did not provide any functions or insights for local TIND admins.
[Authority Lookup | All]
When editing an already authorised field, the authority lookup did not reappear and subfields from the authority record would be re-added if an authority was selected.
The logic has been updated to comply with the authority auto-update behaviour, where all subfields above the $0 will be removed automatically and subfields below (including other authorised subfields) will remain.
[Batch Editor | All]
TIND was delivering multiple failed e-mails when it could not find valid email addresses. TIND now uses the user’s email address based on the user's ID instead of the nickname.
[Batch Uploader | All]
When using the 035 field to identify records and deleting metadata fields with the --delete option, the ID field would also be deleted. The ID field is now preserved.
[Batch Uploader | All]
Admin users can now see their full batch upload history in the Upload History tab.
[Brief View | All]
For users without access to Baskets but edit rights in the record editor, the checkboxes allowing selection of multiple records in the brief view were not displaying. This has now been fixed.
[Circulation | ILS]
In the circulation module, TIND previously reordered subfields in 245 field into alphabetical order regardless of original order. The original order is now observed.
[Detailed View | ILS]
Locations would display as “Available at” locations in the Detailed View header even when the item was unavailable. The header will now only show locations that have available items.
[Detailed View | All]
Before the new Detailed View was in place, TIND used different pages to see different information. For example, attached files were found under specific endpoints. These endpoints are no longer used, and TIND removed these tabs from being displayed and deactivated the endpoints.
[Display / Search |All]
The use of ampersands (&) in bib records, for example in the 710 and 720 fields, would cause Advanced Search to yield inconsistent results and has now been fixed to retrieve the records accurately.
[Displays | All]
TIND adjusted previously overlapping text in the footer of the mobile view, specifically the text: Powered by TIND at the bottom of the page.
[Global Lists / Exports | ILS]
An export would not always contain all rows if multiple exports were made on the same search results. This has been fixed by refreshing the search in the backend when requesting an export.
[GOBI Integration | ILS]
The leader element in the GOBI XML payload was not mapping to the 000 control field in TIND. This has now been fixed for new records imported from GOBI.
[Knowledge Base | All]
Removed a message indicating duplication of terms across different knowledge bases. This message will now only appear if the term already exists in the same KB.
[Knowledge Base | All]
There was a bug when editing a knowledge base “From” value, causing edits not to be saved. This has now been fixed.
[MARC Export | All]
The Marc export from the Detailed View did not provide a proper Marc binary output file.
To fix this and consolidate the export options better, the following changes have been implemented:
[Record Editor / Authority Lookup | All]
When adding or updating authorised fields in the record editor, the existing subfields from the authority record would remain and be added again if selecting the same or a new authority. This behaviour has now been changed to align with how the auto-update functionality works.
Re-authorising a field in the record editor:
[Record Editor, Authority Lookup | All]
In certain situations, selecting an authority in the record editor would not lead to an authorised field, meaning no subfields and ID field were added even though there was a match. This was caused by the record editor prematurely closing the authority modal, and has now been fixed.
[Record Editor | ILS]
The 008 field editor for Mixed Materials was missing characters in the 23-34 Undefined position, inadvertently shortening the field upon save and causing problems with language indexing. The additional character positions have now been added to the editor.
[Self check | ILS]
The Selfcheck module needs a technology update and the Selfcheck configuration module has been deprecated until this is in place. The functionality is still in place, and existing custom configuration is preserved. Any required updates until the new version is in place can be requested from TIND Support.
[SEO | All]
Records were not getting picked up by Google Scholar or Google Dataset Search. TIND made improvements to metadata tags to better monitor google site verification.
[Translations | All]
TIND added additional Norwegian translations where the terms were identified as missing in file table, item table, detailed view, and dashboard.
[Users & Access | All]
Updated several pages within the Users & Access module to ensure the menu panel on the right is not repositioned due to the content size of the main panel.
[Users | All]
The Popular Search link in the Your Alerts feature previously yielded no results after TIND’s ElasticSearch upgrade and has since been fixed.
[Advanced Search| All Products]
Improved Advanced Search (Customer Release) is tentatively scheduled for the 1.21 release after receiving additional beta feedback from users.
[Circulation| ILS]
Improved Advanced Search (Customer Release) is tentatively scheduled for the 1.20 release after receiving additional beta feedback from users.
