After productive discussions at the 2022 User Group, TIND is excited to announce that the Video Player feature is now accessible in its beta version in 1.17.0. Institutions with video collections can now upload video content to TIND for streaming playback in a freshly updated, modern interface presented in the record detail view.
The Video Player functionality ensures the transcoding of various video file formats, guaranteeing superior playback quality for end users. The feature supports a broad range of file types and automatically initiates transcoding once a file is uploaded. An admin dashboard has been set up to facilitate monitoring of the upload process.
Please note that the Video Player is a premium feature that will entail additional costs (to cover streaming and transcoding costs). For details about incorporating this video feature in your instance, we kindly invite you to reach out to our Support team.

[Acquisitions | ILS]
Some fields in the Invoice Lines export had not been updated to pull data from newly added fields in the invoice records and would instead contain outdated values. The export now pulls the data from the correct fields.
[Acquisitions | ILS]
A recent update influenced search functionality in the invoice editor when adding fund codes with numeric characters. The previous behavior has been restored
[Authorities | All Products]
A constraint in the display limited the amount of search results in the new authority module to max 10 results, regardless of configuration. This has been fixed and will display up to the configured number of results in a scrollable list.
[Circulation | ILS]
In some cases, internal users were not able to update items despite having edit rights to the item editor if they did not also have access to edit non-editable fields in the item editor. The access rights have been fixed to no longer consider the access rights to edit these fields.
[DataCite | IR, RDM, DA]
DOI creation would sometimes fail due to invalid XML according to the DataCite schema. This would happen if multiple DataCite fields were mapped to the same Marc data field. This is now handled correctly to allow this use case as well as ensuring the validity of the data.
[Notifications | IR, RDM, DA]
When containing URLs, HTML tags would display in email notifications from the new submission workflows. These tags are no longer displayed in the notifications, and the link displays correctly.
[Submission Dashboards | IR, RDM, DA]
The default timeout period for dashboard actions has been reduced from 12 hours to five minutes.
[OCR / Batch Uploader | DA]
Appending .hocr files to a record which already contained image files would in some instances cause existing 8564_ fields to be overwritten, rather than appended to.
Acquisitions Export [Acquisitions | ILS]
The Fund Status prompt has been removed from the Budget Export option in 1.17, adding fund statuses in a new column in the exported spreadsheet instead. This is to better support management of multiple fund statuses given the latest improvements to Fiscal Year Close.
TIND has delayed the removal of the Checkout (Legacy) option from Circulation. It will now be removed in the 1.19 release. The legacy option will be deprecated to continue focused development on the enhanced Checkout tool made available as beta last year in the 1.11 release (https://info.tind.io/roadmap/1.11.0).
File Management [IR, DA, RDM]
.mp4 and other file formats primarily intended for video files will no longer be supported in the audio player.
File Management [DA]
.hocr files are no longer available for download. These files still provide full text search capabilities in Universal Viewer as intended.
Displays [All Products]
Additional default values for video and text records have been added to the fallback thumbnails.
