Enhancements and new features
Branding for collection pages
We’ve added support for collection branding, allowing you to customize the landing page and search page of individual collections.
- Create branding and showcase the context of your collections
- Maintain individual translations for your site languages
The collection branding configuration involves using Markdown, a simple markup language for plain text formatting. This allows a great deal of flexibility when implementing collection branding.
Text transcripts in the Universal Viewer
The image viewing solution on record pages, Universal Viewer, now supports rendering a text transcript along with your images.
- Provide easier to read or more accessible textual presentations of image files
The text transcript is seamlessly fetched from text files uploaded to the record, and rendered in the right side panel.
Set View only access restrictions on files
We’ve added an optional View only access restriction for files. This restriction prevents the image viewer, pdf viewer and files table from rendering download links, and is useful for media that is intended to only be viewed on the record page.
The View only access restriction is not meant for truly preventing downloads, and will not prevent a direct download through URL.
To enable this feature, contact TIND Support.
Improved site accessibility
We’ve worked on site accessibility by implementing several WCAG 2.0 recommendations for UI and UX elements.
Site accessibility can greatly improve the user experience of people with disabilities.
We are continuing developments for A-level compliance.
Link generation support for many display elements
Many display elements in the details section of the record page now support rendering links encoded in subfield $u
.
Many note fields can have links encoded in subfield $u
to provide more information. For example, the Access Note field allows referring to more information through a link in subfield $u
.
The full list of default details section display elements have been updated to also list which fields support this feature.
Dedicated action for excel exports
We've added a dedicated action for controlling the excel exports from search pages.
Previously, users with the runbibedit
action could export the entire set of search results into excel format. A new action runfullexcelexport
is available to allow a user to do a full excel export.
The new action will be automatically added for the default admin roles. Users with the action runbibedit
will still be allowed to export all records with the excel format.
- Support for displaying file size in the brief view for IR templates.
