RELEASE NOTES - TIND 1.14.1
We are happy to announce the TIND 1.14.1 release. This is a minor bug release.
The release schedule is as follows:
November 8, 2022 – Release 1.14.1 Sandbox & Early Release Instances
November 29, 2022 - Release to all TIND instances
[Fund | ILS]
TIND fixed a user-reported issue where some Pre-FY funds were unable to be closed out as part of end of year processes. Funds now close properly.
[APIs | ILS]
A book vendor (Harrassowitz) reported an error with a user’s order where TIND was not returning the PO number when items in order did not have an ISBN. The purchase order number is now provided in all cases.
[Authentication | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
A user noted their SSO passive authentication was not working. A new method was implemented to ensure successful passive login.
[Batch | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
A user reported an issue where uploading files in batch resulted in an unexpected file and thumbnail order. This was due to the way custom metadata was added to each of the files. Files now load in the correct order.
[Circulation | ILS]
A user reported the inability to edit certain existing patron fees in the fee editor. TIND noted this was due to an error where the validation of fees prevented editing other data. This has been fixed and now works appropriately.
[Circulation | ILS]
TIND corrected an error where the location field was displaying library name, location exception name and location code instead of displaying the location exception only. The information is now displayed correctly.
[Circulation | ILS]
TIND noted that clicking “Request to retrieve” generated an unnecessarily long URL by adding duplicate data from the record items. This has been addressed so the URL appears correctly.
[Circulation | ILS]
A user found that checking out a non-circulating book using the new Checkout module resulted in an error message “Internal Server Error”. This has been fixed so non-circulating items produce the correct message to the user.
[Circulation | ILS]
A user reported that loan period rules were applied unexpectedly in the record Items section for non-logged in users. TIND will no longer show specific loan period information if the user is not logged in, and has instead added language to prompt the user to log in. If the user is logged in but does not have a patron record, the loan period will display a dash, “-”.
[Integrations | ILS]
A user noted a bug in TIND’s integration with StackMap that would disregard a null location and still use the call number, sending patrons to sometimes investigate items in the wrong location. A fix was made so the system will take location and call number correctly into consideration.
[Interlibrary Loan | ILS]
TIND observed that when an ILL request was registered and moved through the request steps, the email informing the patron that their item is ready for pickup was sent at the wrong step. It is now possible to send the pickup notification after setting the status as received.
[code4tind | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
A user attempted to upload a file with an unknown mime-type and received a 500 error in the submission form. TIND has now implemented a default fallback if no mime-type is found.
[Brief View | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
A user noted a difference in the behavior of text search matches in the universal viewer. Depending on how thean end user entered the record page, the matching keyword would inconsistently be highlighted in the text viewer. TIND has fixed this so text is always highlighted regardless of how the user enters the page.
[Detailed View | ILS]
A customer reported items linked to secondary bib records did not display against those bib records in the public view. This has been fixed and secondary records now appear linked as expected.
[Displays | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
TIND discovered an issue with cover images not appearing consistently across customer sites due to timeouts between TIND and the book cover service. The timeout thresholds have been increased and book covers have returned.
[Displays | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
A user noted certain language font characters were not displayed correctly, specifically Turkish characters. This has been fixed so fonts are not mismatched and now display correctly.
[Global List | ILS]
A customer found errors when exporting the results of a Global Lists search in Excel, though export via CSV remained correct. This has been fixed so exports to Excel are working as expected.
[File Manager | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
An error was discovered where it was possible for hocr files with incorrect spellings to be replaced with the correct spellings but no longer point to the same highlighted term. This has been updated so spelling corrections will now point to the correct terms.
[Global Lists | ILS]
TIND noted two column headers with the same name appeared in the Global List Vendor view. TIND renamed the headers so it is easy and clear to differentiate the two values.
[Patron records | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
A user observed patron records falling in the 1-9th positions were not properly indexed in Global Lists. The problem has been resolved.
[Search | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
A user reported the range search operator was not producing expected results when accessed with the Search API. This has been fixed.
[Search | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
User requested a search facet’s indexing to be expanded to include more than the results of one subfield. TIND has enabled multiple subfields to be concatenated into one string so multiple values can be retrieved.
[Submission Forms | DA, IR, RDM]
A user noted imports via submission forms were omitting the DOI from the database record. This has been updated so fields are correctly filled.
[Access Permissions | DA, IR, RDM]
A user noted that another internal user was unable to access a restricted document though the permission settings should have allowed it. This was due to the files being accessed correctly, but subsequently stored in a location only accessible to users with escalated privileges. This has been updated by TIND.
[Circulation | ILS]
TIND will be removing the Checkout (Legacy) option from Circulation in the 1.15 release. This option will be deprecated to continue focused development on the enhanced Checkout tool made available as beta last year in the 1.11 release (https://info.tind.io/roadmap/1.11.0). Please contact TIND Support with any questions.
[Search | ILS, DA, IR, RDM]
TIND will be removing the current Advanced Search option from Search in the 1.16.0 / 1.17.0 release. It will be replaced with a new Advanced Search feature which will be optionally available in 1.15 as part of a beta roll out. Stay tuned for the full announcement in the 1.15 release notes!
[Index Browse | ILS]
Index Browse will remain in beta state in 1.15 while more users have an opportunity to provide feedback.
